When Tulasi Das was alive he wrote Hauma Chalisa. So in the last but oe setece he said "Tulisi Dasa sada Hari chera". Whe people sing Hauman Chalisa have to say their name and continued by "sada Hari chera". Tulasi Das must have Reached Moksha log log ago.
In so may years I have noticed people say innocently "Tulasi Das sada Hari chera" with out realizing the fact. We pray for our self not for Tulasi Das.
I Adi Shankaracharya - he wrote as "mam" so who ever reads it is them. However Tulasi Das was little selfish and gave his name in the chalisa.
Sorry but this is reality.

hello, read this page in Wikipedia to know the correct meaning of it. You don't be selfish

Hunterian
tulasīdāsa sadā hari cherā।
kījai nātha hridaya mama derā॥ 40 ॥

Meaning:
Tulsidas is always a devotee of Hari. O Lord, make my heart your abode.[28][74]

Rambhadracharya offers three explanations for this verse in accordance with three different Anvayas (connection of words)[32] -

O Hanuman, the lord of Vanaras, you are always in the service of Hari (Rama), may you reside in the heart of Tulsidas.
Tulsidas says O Lord Hanuman, may you ever reside in the heart of the devotees who serve Hari (Rama).
Tulsidas is ever the servant of Hari (Hanuman, as Hari also means Vanara in Sanskrit), may you reside in my heart.
